A criminal court judge starts a running club on LA’s notorious skid row and begins training a motley group of addicts and criminals to run marathons. Remarkably, lives begin to change. Judge Craig Mitchell believes that if he can better the physical and psychological health of these individuals, then perhaps some of those successes and advancements might transfer over to their social and professional lives as well. Skid Row Marathon follows five runners as they rise from the mean streets of LA to run marathons around the world, fighting the pull of homelessness and addiction at every turn. Their story is an inspiring and important one of enduring hope, friendship, and dignity.

DIRECTOR BIO:
Mark Hayes attended the film program at New York University and studied under the renowned documentarian George Stoney. He produced and directed several documentaries including Rebound and Svoboda Means Freedom. Mark has taught screenwriting at Southern Methodist University and is a member of the Writers Guild of America.
