We’re always looking for energetic, bright, hard working and experienced people to join our Napa Valley Film Festival team! We are on the hunt for high school and college interns; seasonal operations, marketing, hospitality, event production and administrative seasonal staff; and of course, the incomparable folks who come on as NVFF Volunteers. We’ve outlined some positions below, and we’d love to hear from you if you have any questions or are interested in pursuing any of our unique opportunities. VIEW PAST INTERNSHIPS
Napa Valley Film Festival offers both college and high school-level internships. Past NVFF internships have included advancement in administration, festival operations, marketing, film editing, graphic design and film programming activities.

Napa Valley Film Festival offers engaging college-level internships for those bright students in need of some serious hands-on experience in the event world. Past NVFF internships have included advancement in administration, festival operations, marketing, film editing, graphic design and film programming activities.

NVFF relies on its seasonal staff each year to join the core, year-round team at bringing the festival to life and executing an entire year’s worth of planning and preparation. Seasonal positions have included roles in hospitality management and coordination, marketing and social media, graphic design, customer service, and photography.
The Napa Valley Film Festival is a year-round process and requires the full attention of 10-12 permanent roles in development, programming, marketing, guest relations, and customer service. Each member of this tight-knit team wears a multitude of hats every day.

FILMMAKER HOSPITALITY COORDINATOR

SEASONAL POSITION  •   NAPA, CA

DESCRIPTION

An intern with the Patron & We are looking for a filmmaker liaison to oversee communication and coordinate details for filmmakers in the Lounge, Shorts, and Short Features film categories.

RESPONSIBILITIES

– Manage all communication to and with Shorts, Short Features and Lounge Filmmakers
– Manager all communication to and with and select publicists, managers and/or agents as needed
– Enter all Filmmaker information in Zoho database
– Create all relevant Credentials
– Act as single point person for assigned filmmakers
– Assist in travel planning (rental cars, discounted rooms, if not hosted, etc)
– Work with Lodging Coordinator to accommodate select shorts filmmakers/talent that require hotel lodging
– Work with Host Family coordinator to accommodate all shorts filmmakers
– Handle logistics, ticket requests, etc. for special groups, including the filmmakers and entourages
– Follow up with thank yous (and feedback requests)

REQUIREMENTS

– Experience delivering exceptional hospitality
– Ability to multitask and work under intense pressure
– Ability to be flexible, to adapt when work changes course, or demands need to be met last minute
– Willingness and ability to be a team player
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills
– Exceptional organizational skills
– Expert experience with Microsoft office (specifically word and excel), google drive, and databases
– Zoho or other database experience a plus

CO-MARKETING ASSISTANT

JUNE 15 – NOVEMBER 30  •   NAPA, CA

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a co-marketing assistant to work directly with our marketing manager on maintaining sponsor relationships and executing sponsor marketing deliverables before, during, and after the festival. This includes organizing co-marketing proposals, populating the festival content calendar, and tracking impressions and sponsor data for ROI reports. This individual should be skilled at written and verbal communication, extremely organized, and able to juggle multiple projects at once in a changing environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

– Help Marketing Manager manage sponsor relationship i.e. make sure sponsor is up to date on NVFF posting schedule, email blasts, and when to repurpose our content
– Work with Marketing Manager to write and schedule Instagram, Twitter, & FB posts for sponsors
– Help track all sponsor posts on FB, Instagram, Twitter, Blog and newsletter mentions in smartsheets for ROI reports
– Work with Marketing Manager to create exclusive offers to VC Wine Club members and follow up on performance of campaign
– Grow social media following on Instagram and twitter
– Engage at least 3X a day with sponsors on twitter and instagram: repost or comment
– Monitor feeds, trends, hashtags, and competitors
– Join monthly twitter chats to get 10 high-value follows a month
– Look for possibilities of expanding Linkedin and Google+ presence

REQUIREMENTS

– Experience with Google Drive, Microsoft Word + Excel
– Provide links to 1-2 social networking profiles to demonstrate interest and knowledge
– Exhibits personal qualities, such as organization, enthusiasm, and adaptability
– Performs well in environment that values creativity, flexibility, and variety
– Possesses skills in writing, presentation, interpersonal relations, and customer management
– Prefers challenges, fast pace, new ideas, future focus, and unstructured environment

SOCIAL MEDIA INTERN

SEASONAL POSITION   •   NAPA, CA

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a social media intern with a strong grasp on instagram, twitter, facebook and sprout. In addition, we would love someone with design experience, knowledge of adobe spark, smartsheets, and someone who has a love of film, food, or wine.

RESPONSIBILITIES

– Schedule social media posts on instagram, twitter, and FB to engage with a community of followers online
– Help coordinate online marketing and advertising campaigns
– Track social media data for future presentation and sponsor reporting
– Collaborate with internal departments on projects and assignments
– Demonstrate interest in social media and how media and communication strategies can continuously engage the online community

VERTICAL MARKETING INTERN

AUGUST 1 – NOVEMBER 13   •   NAPA, CA

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Vertical Marketing Intern to join our team! This position would be reaching out to wineries, creating/distributing marketing collateral and helping keep our team organized. Graphic design knowledge (Adobe Creative Suite) is preferred and being a lover of food, film and wine is a plus!

RESPONSIBILITIES

– Vertical marketing affinity group research
– Cleaning up and updating vertical marketing spreadsheets
– Creating electronic vertical marketing flyers
– Sending vertical marketing flyers out and following up with recipients
– Collateral distribution
– Researching winery websites to see where there might be NVFF co-marketing opportunities
– Following up with “rest of world wineries” (e.g. not Vintner Circle members or cash sponsor wineries) to make sure they have our assets and ask if they have any questions

REQUIREMENTS

– Someone who feels comfortable speaking over the phone and making cold calls
– Has a car
– Has the ability to creatively research and connect film themes to organizations with similar interests
– Can work with excel spreadsheets and Google Drive
– Familiar with Adobe Creative Suite

GRAPHIC DESIGN INTERN

JULY 15 – DECEMBER 1   •   NAPA, CA

DESCRIPTION

Our graphic design intern would help with projects for print, web and social. This position is ideal for someone who already has graphic design experience and wants to add to their portfolio. Being a lover of food, film and wine is a plus!

RESPONSIBILITIES

– General design for marketing, social and web content
– Keeping up to date on graphic design trends
– Internship can be done remotely

REQUIREMENTS

– Is either a graphic design major or has 1-2 years experience of working with the Adobe Creative Suite
– Can provide a portfolio for review
– Ability to follow brand guidelines

FILMMAKER HOSPITALITY INTERN

OCTOBER 1 – NOVEMBER 13 •   NAPA, CA

DESCRIPTION

An intern with the Patron & Our hospitality and programming teams are looking for a short-term intern to provide additional assistance a short few weeks before and during NVFF.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Help creating final itineraries
– Creating welcome packets for filmmakers
– Assisting Filmmaker Hospitality Team with errands, projects, communications

REQUIREMENTS

– Database experience
– Microsoft office, excel, and drive experience is a must
– Team driven and willing to go the extra mile

PATRON CIRCLE + VINTNER CIRCLE INTERN

SEASONAL POSITION   •   NAPA, CA

DESCRIPTION

An intern with the Patron & Vintner Circle would assist the director with researching, building databases, event planning for cultivation events and marketing support.

RESPONSIBILITIES

– Researching high-end Concierge services to connect with
– Researching wineries with event spaces
– Brainstorming on ideas for cultivation events and researching existing events
– Create a database using air table to keep records of all Vintner Circle dinner attendees.
– Create a database from all Patron Circle members over the last 7 years
– Work with marketing team to design invitations for cultivation events
– Assist in planning cultivation event; booking vendors, reaching out wineries, assist with verbiage and creating invitations.

REQUIREMENTS

– Hard worker
– Quick learner
– Strong grammar and writing skills
– Comfortable making phone calls
– Graphic design skills a plus
