Codes of Conduct

CNV/NVFF helps creative people achieve their goals. One way we do this is by serving as a platform for engaging, thought-provoking conversations and discussions.

However, CNV/NVFF is not a place for conversations, discussions, and behavior that are intentionally inappropriate, off-topic, disruptive, or abusive.

CNV/NVFF defines inappropriate behavior as any form of verbal or physical abuse, the use of derogatory or discriminatory language, gestures or actions, any form of harassment, racism, sexism, or any other targeted comments which are intended to cause personal offense to another CNV/NVFF participant either in-person at the event or through social media channels, or in violation of any local or state laws.

CNV/NVFF may take action in its discretion against any individual(s) or group(s) it believes fail to meet the standards set forth in this Code of Conduct, including but not limited to revoking the violating parties’ credentials without refund.

Please contact customerservice@www.nvff.org if you believe you’ve observed or experienced a violation of this Code of Conduct, and CNV/NVFF will work to assess the situation and to respond as soon as possible. Please remember that notifying CNV/NVFF does not constitute or replace a notification to local law enforcement.

All violations of the law should be reported to local law enforcement. For emergencies, immediately dial 9-1-1. For non-emergencies, the Napa Police Department is available at (707) 257-9223.

CNV/NVFF RFID POLICY
We are scanning Badges & Wristbands:
CNV/NVFF has been using different formats of Radio Frequency Identification (“RFID”) technology in some of our credentials since 2015, including Credentials & Wristbands. This means that credentials will be authenticated at most CNV/NVFF events at time of entry, including panels.
How does CNV/NVFF use RFID?

In our continuing efforts to improve the events of CNV/NVFF, credentials and wristbands that include an identifying code are used to track attendance of the various events. To discourage counterfeiting this same identifying code within each CNV/NVFF credential and wristband, which can be read by scanners placed in CNV/NVFF venues or used by staff or volunteers. The chip in each badge and wristband does not carry any Personal Information (defined below), however, the RFID chip contains a unique ID code that is correlated with your personal information, including but not limited to your name, company, phone number, mailing address, and email address (“Personal Information”), by CNV/NVFF. The organizer may use and share Personal Information collected via this RFID technology to communicate with you about CNV/NVFF events, to improve the event, in special circumstances such as financial or physical threat to you, and when required by law. For example, we may use your Personal Information to send out an email asking for feedback from attendees of a specific panel or event. While we work with third-party technology partners, we will not share your Personal Information with outside parties for commercial purposes not related to CNV/NVFF. For more information on our commitment to your privacy, please view our Privacy Policy.
How does CNV/NVFF not use RFID?

CNV/NVFF does not share RFID information with third-parties for their marketing purposes. No third-parties may use the RFID information for authentication purposes or to register attendance. CNV/NVFF does not track RFID tags after events have ended.
Each chip is scanned before you receive it to ensure that it is in good working order. Do not bend or puncture your badge. Because of the RFID chip, the CNV/NVFF credential can be the only laminate worn on your lanyard. Other laminates must be worn on a separate lanyard. CNV/NVFF reserves the right to check your RFID tag at anytime.
