On Friday, November 9 members of our Patron Circle and invited guests enjoy one of the highlights of the festival: our famed Vintner Circle Dinners, over 20 sumptuous and intimate dinner parties which showcase the elements that make the Napa Valley a premier food and wine destination— with a special cinematic twist. Vintner Circle members pair their world-class wines with the talents of award-winning chefs to present unforgettable dining adventures, each of which celebrates one or more of our competition films. Join Acumen Wines for a delectable dinner with winemaker Henrik Poulson and Chef Yancy Windsperger of Compline at the stunning Acumen Wine Gallery in downtown Napa. The evening will begin with a wine and hors d’oeuvres reception in the tasting lounge, followed by a dinner featuring Acumen’s estate-grown PEAK wines paired alongside locally procured farm-to-table fare from Compline, recently named one of America’s Best Wine Restaurants in 2018 by Wine Enthusiast Magazine. The warm, modern aesthetic of the space, coupled with a beautiful collection of contemporary art provides the perfect backdrop for this intimate dining event.
Join Barnett Vineyards for a spectacular evening atop Spring Mountain hosted by proprietors Fiona and Hal Barnett and Winemaker David Tate at the winery’s private estate overlooking the beautiful Napa Valley floor 2,000 feet below. Enjoy a 4-course seasonally inspired meal prepared by Chef Natalie Niksa, owner of La Saison, perfectly paired with Barnett Vineyards wines including select vintages from Barnett’s celebrated Rattlesnake Cabernet Sauvignon.
Beringer Estate by Las Alcobas
Beringer Vineyards is the oldest continuously operating winery in Napa Valley, with a winemaking tradition dating back more than 140 years. Guests will dine in the historic Hudson House, the original Beringer property built in 1852. With high ceilings, French doors and a wrap-around porch, this charming home is the perfect setting for an elegant evening. Guests will be treated to a private dinner prepared by Las Alcobas Executive Chef Sean Collins of Acacia House by Chris Cosentino, carefully paired with Beringer’s Private Reserve wines.
In legendary Napa Valley, John Caldwell is a legend all his own. The maverick responsible for introducing the most prized Bordeaux rootstock and grapevine clones to California, he helped revolutionize the foundation of modern winemaking in North America. As the original licensee for the French government’s certified ENTAV-INRA clones, he helped establish a new industry standard for Bordeaux varietals in the United States. Ever since Maria and Marco Castellucci were young, their father would tell them how he grew up in Italy where their grandfather, Luigi Castellucci, made wine in his basement. Follow Mike and Sandy on a tour of their 11,000 square feet of caves, state of the art production facility and get a sneak peek into the Davis Estates Library and exclusive Founder Member’s Cellarium. Vintners Hall of Fame inductee Miljenko “Mike” Grgich drew worldwide attention when he won the famous 1976 blind-tasting in the Judgement of Paris. Grgich Hills Estate continues to produce and share exquisite Chardonnays that are sought after by connoisseurs, sommeliers and celebrities. Violet Grgich, president and daughter of Mike Grgich, will host this dinner and welcome guests into the winery to experience the legacy of Grgich Hills Estate. The Grgich family’s Croatian heritage will be reflected
in a beautiful meal crafted to highlight their food- friendly wines paired perfectly with local ingredients and artisan food.
J. Lohr Vineyards and Wines
Join 2nd generation co-owner Cynthia Lohr and local favorite Chef Elaine Bell for a delicious evening featuring wines from J. Lohr’s sustainably farmed, estate vineyards in Monterey, Paso Robles and Napa Valley. Our most generous and passionate supporters break bread with the year’s biggest stars. Meadowood’s team of Sommeliers will present some of Napa Valley’s most sought-after wines to accompany the night’s exquisite menu prepared by James Beard Honoree Chef Alejandro Ayala.
Miner Family Winery
A sensational portfolio of wines, authentic people and stunning Napa Valley views are what make Miner Family Winery an unforgettable destination. Join owner Dave Miner for an exciting evening that begins with a reception overlooking Oakville, where guests will enjoy two wines and a selection of delicious bites. The group will then have an opportunity to take a guided tour of the winery and caves. Start with a glass of Estate Sauvignon Blanc and a true Instagram opportunity in front of the winery’s highly anticipated Heather Day mural.
